ADULT & TEACHER PROGRAMS

Sultana Projects’ John Smith Trail Expeditions program offers guided canoe trips for teacher and adult groups on the newly established Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. Using a traveling fleet of canoes that is brought to a location of your choosing, the program encourages participants to examine the health of the Chesapeake by comparing and contrasting the modern Bay with the Chesapeake that was explored by Captain John Smith in 1608. Activities include paddling, water quality sampling, shoreline and marsh exploration, and visiting sites of importance to local Native American communities. The Expeditions program can accommodate groups of up to 18 adults/teachers.

Each summer Sultana Projects offers MSDE accredited teacher training seminars as part of the John Smith Trail Expeditions program. Contact Sultana Projects at 410-778-5954 or ccerino@sultanaprojects.org to learn about our upcoming programs.
